Christmas Spirit

Hello again!!!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!  My weekend was good.  We finished decorating the inside of the house, and took Landon to see Santa.  A good friend of mine invited us to an event with her reality company where they do free pictures with Santa, and then a movie.  We watched Tangled.  Landon did pretty good he slept until the last 5 minutes or so then woke up and watched the rest of the movie.  It was a cute one!  Here is our tree lit up.  The lights blink so i was not able to get them all at once being on.  We have been debating on adding some red to it, we had some cute bulbs given to us that are red and silver with snowflakes. I think they are adorable but not sure how it would fit in with the blue and white.

I finally figured out what to do with the wall/area right as you walk in our front door.  It was so plain and boring.  With a little help from Gina this is what it turned out to be.  The house has a light in it and the tree in the back is tealight.  It shines stars on our wall when lit.  I think it looks great and was thankful Gina helped me come up with something for all of it! The Santa picture is adorable that was given to me.  It just went so well with all of it.

I was able to get my husband out to start putting up the out side lights.  Landon and i supervised.  I was bummed because i was not able to get a good finished picture.  My camera does not do well with Christmas lights for some reason.  I have tried different settings but maybe i just haven't found the right one yet?  Anyways if i can get a good picture ill get blogged.  I think our house looks good.  My husband wants our house to be an eye sore to others.  He wants a TON of lights to where it lights up the neighborhood.  Thats not happening though.  Our electric bill would be crazy high. Below is a picture of our mantal.  We have silver garland and blue lights mixed together and some other cute little things sitting up on it.
I have been so excited to decorate, and im now happy im done.  It seems like its a long process getting everything the way you want it.  I took Landon for his 6 month appt on Wednesday, he has gained 3 pounds and grew 2 inches.  He is getting so big.  While at the doctor he was telling us how he was going to start catching onto so much and learning to do things.  That day alone he started walking around in his walker, he now scoots back wards trying to crawl.  He has a toy that when you twist it it makes and noise and he figured out how to twist it..He keeps learing so much, soon he will be walking and crawling.  I have finally been able to finish up a pair of pants im making.  They are for my mom.  Im hoping to get my dads done so i can send off a box to them soon.
For some odd reason i have been having horrible headaches, it has been going on for the past week and a half i would say.  I dont know what is causing it, but i took my contacts out and got new glasses hoping to solve the problem but it has not worked so far.  If it doesnt get better ill prob. have to go back to the doctor.  For now though i need to finish up in the kitchen, im making home made cookie..mmmmm so good :)  and i need to get my little one to bed.  I hope everyone has a great Monday!

Great Getaway

Hello Everyone,  I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving.  I know i did.  I had two Thanksgivings so i was stuffed.  I was able to go for a lunch time Thanksgiving with a friend whos husband is deployed then we had a dinner Thanksgiving with Gina and Mike.  The food was great.  On Thanksgivng morning i went downstairs to my husband putting the lights on our Christmas Tree.  This is what it looks like.  We have our gifts all under the tree and a couple more that need to be wrapped.  We are in the holiday spirit.

Landon had his first taste of Mashed Potatos!!! He loved them he had a prety good portion of it.  It was so adorable he was leaving over with his mouth open hinting that he wanted more.  He is getting so big so fast.  In the picture below we were at Mike and Ginas house and he was chewing on dads phone.  I must have caught him off guard he is looking at me like seriously mom your doing this. :)  I love it

The day after Thanksgiving a group of friends went with us to Leavenworth.  It is up in the moutains and we were really worried about the 6-12 Inches they were suppose to be getting but thankfully we made it safely.  this is the little Cottage/winery that we stayed in.  Our basement was the winery and they give you a free bottle of wine when staying.  It was quite cute.  The inside was old Fashioned like and had floral patterns.  There were 2 bedrooms downstairs and a loft upstairs, with a hot tub out side (AMAZING)

It was a great get away for us.  I enjoyed the  company and wine with our good  friends.  We had some good laughs.  I have started on pajamas for myself, mom, and dad.  Im hoping to have them done before christmas so i can send them off to my parents.  The weather has been cold and rainy here.  I think i would rather have the snow.  However last time i wished for snow we were out of power for 3 days.  It was not fun at all.  The whole county pretty much shut down.  As the holidays approach im excited but a little sadded at the same time.  This will be my first Christmas not with my family,  I know it sounds silly because im adult now and have a family of my own, but Christmas has always been our holiday.  Ill be going home shortly after though for a few months.  For now im off to start my day,  this evening i have some goodies that were givin to me to post.  They are very cute!  Talk to you soon Bloggers

Call us Crazy

Hello Bloggers!!!  I hope everyone has been staying warm.  I know here in the wonderful state of Washington it has been really cold and rainy.  Above are the pictures i promised of my nephew Layton, the top one is my sister with him.  Im so happy to have another healthy baby added to our family.  I hope to make it home soon to see him!  I know they get big so fast!!!

Landon and i have been doing some Christmas shopping online, and yesterday my husband got home earlier than expected.  The fed-ex guy stopped and dropped off one of his gifts, of course he found out what it was..He just couldn't wait to try it out.  It was a tent.  It was suppose to be from Landon so we got some pictures of him and daddy sitting in it.  Travis loved it and i was a little sad that the surprise was ruined but i made him fit everything back the way it came and it's still going under the tree for Christmas.  Did i mention he put it up in our living room???  It was huge took up almost the whole open area.

There is the "call us crazy" part.  I started working on stockings just to have something to do, and my husband gets out the Christmas lights!!!  We only have them up in two of our windows, but he also hung up our greeting cover for our door.  We are not putting the rest of the decorations  up until Thanksgiving night though.  We are starting a family tradition.  I honestly think we are both so excited about the holidays because last year he was deployed, so this will be our first year together and with Landon.  Im not skipping Thanksgiving though.  Every night after we get Landon to bed we sit down and talk about what we are most thankful for that day.  It actually nice to be able to sit down and talk about it.  For Thanksgiving this year, we are taking some turkey and stuffing to a friend whos husband is deployed.  She doesn't have any family here so we figured it would be nice..then we are going to go to Ginas that evening for some more good food.  I know if i was alone on Thanksgiving my friend would do the same for me.  Im hoping for a great day!!!  My lil guy has not been feeling the best, he has been coughing and has had a runny nose.  I had plans to go to a bazzar event today but was not able to go due to my husband having a dentist appt and so i had to stay with Landon.  I was really bummed but i hope there will be more to come.

After a cold and rainy day this is how it ends, a big cup of hot chocolate with extra marshmellows!!!! :)
Goodnight blog land, stay warm and dry

Welcoming a new baby!!

First off i would like to welcome my new baby nephew into the world!!!!  My sister (not the one from the previous post) Was taken to the hospital yesterday morning, she had a seziure and so they broke her water and she had Layton Joe this morning.  He was due December 4th so he is a little early but he was 6pounds 11oz and 20 inches long.  I dont have a picture at this time but as soon as i get one it will be posted!!!   On sunday my Husband, some friends of ours, Landon and i went to Mount Rainier.  The pictures below are all from up there.  It was kind of a bummer there was not as much snow as the previous times we have been.

Landon had his own sled.  We did not let him go down any hills but he got pulled around.  I was so worried he would slide off.  He had actually fallen asleep.  He is so funny acting like his life is so hard :) He was all bundled up

Tonight we were in the Christmas spirit so instead of putting decorations up we decided to wrap some gifts.  I was able to wrap Landons and my husbands.  It was really nice to be able to spend that time together wrapping.  We don't get to do that much.  With our schedules were lucky to spend an hour just visiting with each other.  My husband normally comes home eats dinner then heads to bed.   I am part of the FRG for my husbands boat, we had a donut sale at 6:30 am this morning.  I have not seen that early in quite some time.  It was a fun day though we were able to sell all the donuts and muffins!!  It was nice to be able to see the hubby also around the office.  We are doing another one next Tuesday so im hoping for another good turn out.

An update on my other sister.  She admitted that she was having an addiction and she needed to get her life back on track.  Then informed us that my 15 year old neice was pregnant :/  I really dont know what to think of the situation.  Im very upset about it but she is not my daughter so..I think it would be best for her to put the baby up for adoption considering the circumstances, to give the baby a good life, but she refuses so prayers needed!  Not to cut it short but i have a fussy baby.  Talk to you soon Blog Land

The excitement of re-arranging

Well hello again blog land.  It has been a few days since i have been on.  We have had alot going on our way. Our roommate moved out today and we started moving the rooms around.  Our house is a mess right now, but we have started.  The first picture is of the spare bedroom which used to be Landons room.  The Walls are a light green and i have a Green, Yellow, and Black quilt that i think im going to hang above the bed.  I still need to finish moving the rest of the stuff from my craft room to the new spare room.

Then we have what is now Landons room.  I dont really like the arrangement right now but it will work for tonight.  My husband went a little crazy with the stickers.  I am going tomorrow to get fabric to make curtains for his room.  Right now its just an open window that just wont do, he thinks when he sees daylight that its time to get up.  I would rather him sleep in like normal.  We are going to try to get him to sleep in his own room tonight.  I dont know how it will go but we have to start somewhere.

I now have an extra bathroom to decorate.  I had gotten these cute frames at the Dollar Tree for a dollar, so im thinking of doing a beach theme for it. I may change my mind but im just trying to get my house to feel more like home.

These cute little girls Gina had gotten me on our day out on the town.  They were my Thanksgiving gift.  They are adorable and on my mantal above our wood burner I love them.  I am excited we are going out again next weekend.  The holidays are such a great time, i look forward to them.   Today i found out that my 15 year old neice is pregnant.  My family is stressing me out so bad.  All of my family like in the IN, KY area.  My sister is more worried about her ex-husband who doesnt want to be with her right now, She is putting so much stress on my mother who obviously puts in on my father...Its a domino effect.  My dad has high blood pressure, and seizures so its not good on him.  I live half way across the US from them but feel like i should be there with them at a time like this.  Any suggestions or opinions.. Im so torn and stressed at this point in time.  Not trying to put my problems out there im just stuck not knowing what to do.  Today i am thankful that my husband was able to fix our car.  We were having vibrations and shaking..rotor was bad.  Now tomorrow we get the oil changed, it will be running great again at last :)  we have Landons pictures tomorrow at 4pm  i am really excited.  We have cute santa hat for him and a Christmas sweater.  In the mix of all this we are picking up our corner desk and rug from Gina.  Everything is slowing falling into place.  However today has been a long and stressful day so im off for a little relaxation time after getting Lil man to bed.  Good night all!!!

Chilly Days

Well hello again blog land..It has been a couple days since i have been able to get on to blog.  My son has been quite fussy the last 3 days or so.  Finally today he seems to be back to his normal self, and is down for a nap.  I have been slowly getting some Christmas decorations, we are just starting out last year my husband was deployed.  Gina tells me all the time to check Goodwill, so finally i did they had some nice tings.  I had gotten this glass snowman set for 5$  I couldn't pass it up

I had also gotten this cute little snowman and the blue tin.  My husband however had to have the little bear with a mailbox in the middle.  Not quite sure where it will go but we can find a place. :)  Today was back to work for Travis.  He had the second part of his PRT which consited of the running and exercise portion.  Im keeping my fingers crossed!  Last night we had went to Gina and Mikes for dinner.  It was amazing.  We had roast, carrots, garlic mashed potatos and beef gravy. It's always nice to get together with good friends for dinner to just chat and enjoy the time spent.  I was able to mess with the sewing machine yesterday after breakfast, i got it up and running.  Im so excited to get started.  I think im going to start off making some new PJs for my dad.  In Highschool i always made him pjs, and havn't since then.  I figure i can use it as a warm up project.  I haven't sewed in 3 years or so.  We take Landon on Thursday to get his Christmas pictures done..  he has a cute sweater that has a tie on it.  It's too cute.  Picutres will be up soon.  For now though i need to get housework done i have a FRG meeting tonight.

Sunny days

Day 3 of beautiful weather here in Washington.  Today i was able to take my son to the park for a little bit and meet up with a good friend of mine for some catch up time.  She has two boys who are 4 and 1 they are quite adorable.  Her husband is out to sea right now so it's nice to meet up with her and keep her company.  Finally today my husband and i took a walk down to the pier by our house.  We have been wanting to but it has either rained or we got caught up in yard work and didn't make it.

In the first picture you can see Mt. Rainer.  It is so pretty up there.  We have made it up there a couple times.  It is beautiful to look at from our pier.  The second picture is in the opposite direction and just thought it turn out beautiful as well.  Landon loves going on walks down to the pier, or anywhere for that matter.

I think on our walk was the only time today that he wasn't fussing.  Today was just one of those days.  Im hoping tomorrow will be better.  Of course we couldn't pass up this beautiful day without working on cleaning up the yard.
My wonderful husband is cleaning up around our shed where our garden is suppose to be.  We were not able to plant one this year because i had just had Landon and my husband went out to sea.  it would have been a little much for me to handle, and keep up with.  It looks horrible right now but as soon as we get it all cleaned up i will post some pictures.  Im really happy that we had moved into the house we live in.  We have great neighbors, who help out alot.  Im anxious to start up my sewing again.  Im hoping once i get started i can post some of my projects up here and eventually do some give-aways.

Overall today has been a great day!!! I would like to say congrats to my husband for passing his weigh in for this off crew!  We were a little worried but he made it out at 20%.  Im very proud.  Next he just has to pass the PRT which consist of 1.5 mile run in 11 minutes, 50 push-ups and 50 sit-up in 2 minutes.  Personally i would not want to do it and prob. wouldn't pass.  For now im going to eat some homemade sugar cookies, and settle down from this busy day.  I hope everyone had just as good of a day as i did

Here there and everywhere

Hello Blog Land, another beautiful day here in Washington.  Im enjoying every bit of it also because i know before long it will be rainy, dark days.  Today has been a great day.  Landon and i ran some errands to go get his Birth Certificate fixed.  ( It claimed he was female)  and to comcast to take back a modem to save us some money.  Then it was working out in the yard.  We were FINALLY able to mow our yard!!!  It had not been mowed in over a month.  We had asked our lovely room-mate to do so but he claimed it was broken.  It was a little to wet to use ours so we borrowed Gina, and Mikes.  I have to say i LOVE it!  It has an assist on it so when your going up a hill you can pull the lever and it pushes it up the hill for you.  I think it would be a great investment if we decide to stay here in Indianola.  Below is a picture of my son in his new Johnny Jumper.  He loves to play in it, however he kept hitting his head on the door so my husband had the bright idea to put the mattress pad around him...too funny.

Tonight while giving him a bath he found some parts he didnt know he had, and let me tell you he was amazed.  He wouldn't stop messing with it.  Like i had said in my last blog..he learns something new everyday and it amazes me.

I am going to start up on sewing, scrapbooking, and crafts again!!!  I'm pretty excited.  Gina is helping me get started by lending me some of her stuff.  Here in the picture is the sewing table im using. It is amazing.  It is an older table and the sewing machine she is lending me is from 1987.  They go together so well. I'm hoping tomorrow i'll be able to find time to look the machine over and figure it out.  I have started on my room for all of the crafty stuff.  I just can't move our spare bed out until our room-mate moves out on the 4th of December.  I was also given this cute little holder for all of my scrapbooking stickers, pens, glue, tape ect.  That was a gift from Gina also.  It's all coming in handy and getting me started!! Ill be posting pictures as my room progresses.  Tomorrow is suppose to be a nice afternoon so for now im going to get my little man in bed, and prepare for another evenful day.  I think were going to go to the park for a little bit, and then some more yard work.  I'll talk to you tomorrow bloggers...Good Night

Beautiful Day

If i may say so myself it was a beautiful day here in Washington.  The sun was shinning, and a great temp.  It was perfect long sleeve weather.  Landon and i spent the day in the yard raking leaves the first part of the day and the second we spend cleaning the house.  Yesterday wasn't the best day my husband and i spent all day in bed sick.  Not the best when  you have a little one who wants to play and be active when you want to sleep.  Thank goodness it was only a 24 hr. bug.  Travis has watch today so he will have a late night. We do have some of the best neighbors though..Gina is making us a pizza, which is nice considering i didnt really feel like cooking.  Still not back 100% yet.  Im anxious to try her new bread.  We are going to get me started on sewing and crafts again.  Im really excited to jump into the world of crafts.  I just found out that our room mate will be moving out the beginning of December.  I think it will be best for Travis and i.  We are married and have a baby, we need to just be a family, and we can keep things as clean as we want them and not have to worry about the stress of cleaning up after someone else.  Im really excited.  I can now turn his room into the spare bedroom, and the down stairs room into a scrapbooking/craft room.  Ill post pictures as soon as i get it done :)

Happy Halloween

Well this is my first post so im just learning the whole blogging thing, Hopefully i dont suck at it.  :)  Today is Halloween i hope everyone has had a good one.  This is my husband and i's first Halloween passing out candy.  We were both so excited to have all the trick-or-treaters.  We had a total of 2.  We are very disappointed.  More candy for us though (not that we need it)  Landon has been quite sick the last day or so.  We were not sure we would even get him out, but he seemed to start feeling a little better so we went to our neighbors house to take him trick or treating.  He got a little bag of candy from Gina, and Mike, and the neighbors across the street gave him three snickers.  He was dressed up as a monkey, and had a baby pumpkin that Gina let him borrow.  I'd say he made it out pretty good!  It has been an eventful Fall for us so far.  We had a command halloween ball on Friday night.  I went as Marylan Monroe, and my husband went as a Hilbilly.  Let me tell you he looked exactly like one.  Well that is all for today, time for relaxiation with the hubby before he has to go back to work tomorrow.
